Now we are 6 (months)

In a few short days our girl will be 6 months old- my how time has flown!
She is still the same puppy, still growing fast, and playing hard. She is slowly getting used to life in the Killeen household. Unfortunately she has not quite learned that jumping on your head whilst you are sitting on the floor is not a great idea, although she gets a great deal of inappropriate encouragement from her father who thinks that it is great fun. Like every child or pet we love her to bits but most of all when she is asleep! Her ears ans paws tell us that she has a great deal more growing to do, and she it averaging a nice gentle 1-1.5km walk every day- which is good news as mummy could really do with the exercise!

Here are some more photos for you all and I promise the video will come also once I get a tutorial from my resident IT consulant. Laney and Ron.

Week 12- 5months old

Tess is now 5 months old (or 20 weeks) and is getting more like a dog and less like a puppy every day (except when she is being naughty. She has started losing her baby teeth, and for a short while has been a bit gummy, but she is now growing all of her adult conine teeth all at once, which may explain why she has been a bit sooky lately. She has also discovered that stairs are not such a bad thing and regularly pops up to shack west to visit Dad and help him with radz or computers or tech talk.
She enjoys her long daily walks and loves going visiting.
We have seen some recent photos of her litter mates especially the boys Dutch and Bailey who are HUGE and all of them are starting to look so grown up now.
We have some assorted videos of the past few weeks to put up but that takes more skill than Mum can muster so we will get Dad to put those up very soon.

More week 8 stuff- 2nd visit to Granny and Granda's

Tess really enjoys her visits to her grandparents, and this week she went to Granny and Granda Allison's for Mum's birthday and also to Nanna and Yak Killeen's for a visit and a play with Macros- I guess you could say Macros is her uncle of sorts!.
The grass is a favorite play area at both houses as she does not have any at home.

Week 6!

Tess has started puppy-school this week and has some new friends. We met Oslo the Beagle, Jack the cavalier King Charles cross, Stitch the Cockerspaniel cross, Coco-Chanel the chocolate labradoodle, Goldie the spoodle, and Ruby the Staffy-Terrier. At first she refused to socialise and was frightened of puppies less than half her size, but now she is starting to come out of her shell.

She is also doing very well with her obedience training and can "sit", "drop" and "come" on command. (Especially when there is food involved.)

In a couple of weeks Tess will be getting her final immunisation and then she'll be able to go out for walks. She is looking forward to walking Amy home from school.

Week Five
I keep meaning to update the blog but everything has been frantic now I am back at work!
Tess has really become a feature in our lives, and is doing very well. At 13 week s old, she is almost completely toilet trained, and there have been very few accidents in the past few weeks. She is growing at a ferocious rate and now weights in at just over 9kg. She has a longer snout and legs and the rest appears to be catching up.

She has also met some new folks int hepast few weeks. Sam and Nick and Melanie came over for a visit and a play which Tess was very excited about. We have als o had some repeat visitors to keep us company. With the hot weather Tess discovered the joy of water when we purchased her a clam shell. She had a great deal of fun swimming with Georgie McColm in the pool.

Tess has also had her secoind shots and has been chipped- Ron calls her "superdog" I just call her the 6 Million dollar Dog. She enjoyed the visti to the vet ( despite the injections and pain) so much I had to drag her away.

We also did our first big car trip since coming home from Donnybrook, we went to visit Granny and Granda Allison. Tess was very excited about the trip but less certain about the drive home in the dark. She enjoyed the lush green grass, something she has not been used to to at home. She also took a liking to Dad's herbs and Thyme seemed to be her favorite.

We start Puppy school on Wednesday night, it will be great fun to let her loose with other dogs.

See you next chat!

Week Two!

Week two has come and gone very quickly. Tess is learning to cope on her own a little better, there's less crying and tears, but she has learned to bark a lot more ( Max will be very impressed, he was concerned she didn't go "woof" when he has seen her!) Tess met some new friends in week two, she met Daddy's CRAP friends (an acronym not a description- it stands for CPS Refugess and Partners) and she met the rest of the McColm clan and was very taken with Georgie and Emily. I had to check Linda's bag when she went home to make sure she hadn't smuggled her out on the way home! This week Tess has discovered bones in a big way, she was quite interested in the little ribs last week but after a visit to the butcher Mum brought home some Mega-bones. The first of which is still going strong some 4 days later. She didn't surface for 3 hours after receiving it she was so impressed!. Enough for this week seeing it's actually nearly week 3!. Speak soon, Tess xx

week one- more shots

A few more photos for you of week one.....

Week One....

We'll we have all survived the first week with a puppy at home, though Laney is a little worse for wear! We have discovered our girls has some specific likes so far, she likes sleeping, eating, destroying the garden, sleeping, visitors, sleeping and when she's worn out from all that sleeping even more sleeping. Laney is a little peeved at buying a lovely kennel that Tess seems to think is totally unneccessary at this stage, though we are sure that iwhen the weather gets cold she will think it's a great idea!. Apart from the ongoing challenge of house training we are all getting along very well. She has met Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa Eddie, Cherie, James, Max and Amy, Belinda Erin and Caitlin, Melanie, Andrew Mc and Rod and Sarah so far. She is enjoying her social life very much. All our friends have commented on how well socialised she is , another compliment to Ros and Ian!. Initially the stairs in the backyard were a bit of a challenge but now she either runs down the ramp Laney built fur flying in the wind or slides down on her tummy or bottom which she thinks is great fun! Bye for now, we will see you on next blog and from Tess a big sloppy kiss to you all!
